Coherent UI licensing and pricing FAQ
Coherent UI Licensing is done on a per-project basis where a unique License Key, granting you access to your licensed products, is generated for each project.
A Coherent UI per-product License is unique and is tied to your Licensee Title. It cannot be transferred or shared. Doing so breaches the terms of the License Agreement. The only exceptions to this are to provide the Coherent UI License Key to members working on the licensed project, as per the terms of the License Agreement.
The Coherent UI License is tied to a specific Licensed Licensee Title, so it cannot be used to create new titles. Doing so breaches the terms of the License Agreement. If you require to use Coherent UI in another project, please get a trial license for the new project.
Team and Studio Coherent UI Product Licenses are project-based. They are not individual or “per seat” licenses, so for those licenses, No.
Budget is defined as total cost: proceeds, salaries for all of the team, consulting, tools, assets, etc. at time of shipping, for the main title and all planned DLCs. If the project is still in development calculate the best estimate of the total project budget when completed.
We do not require the particular numbers or the company books and accounting details. You have to make sure that your budget meets the requirements of the License Agreement all the time.
You should contact us within 30 days of the event and we will provide you with options change the license to the appropriate license tier. Existing subscriptions for your team members, if having more than one month remaining, will be refunded or subtracted from the license price.
*Updates* means a major (reference release) version of the SDK, but does not upgrade it to the next major version of the SDK and is identified numerically to the right of the decimal point e.g. Version 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and so on; an Update is not a major, standalone version of the SDK.
Platforms in regards to Coherent UI are the following four: PC (major desktop operating systems), Mobile (iOS, Android), Microsoft XBOX One, and Sony PlayStation 4.
These products are on our roadmap and will be released in the future.
The subscription is only required to create new builds of the game. All assets produced during active subscription, will continue to operate after the subscription is terminated, and can continue to be distributed, sold/published and reproduced.
We consider DLC a separate product added to the game post-release that changes or adds no more than 30% of the main content (in terms of appropriate measure for your project – i.e. if it is a new territory, its area, and so on.) and priced less than 30% of the main title.
You can cancel your subscription at any time. You will not be billed during the next billing cycle. Your license and access to the SDK will remain until the end of the current billing cycle. We cannot provide partial or pro-rata refunds for the remaining subscription days.
You License Agreement with Coherent Labs will be terminated at the end of the payment cycle of your current subscription period. You can continue distributing and selling previously released versions of your products that include the SDK. Upon termination you cannot use the SDK for development anymore and you have to remove the entire SDK and all the assets from all your code and repositories within 15 days. You cannot release more versions of the product that include Coherent UI, including patches and fixes.
Coherent UI subscription is not tied to particular title, so Yes. For the Team and studio licenses, developers should acquire a license for each project or use the evaluation version.
A subscription is needed to use Coherent UI in the editor and to compile projects. From our user feedback, we recommend as the most convenient, that everybody in the team to have a subscription.
You can use the same license for launchers, lobbies, etc. as far as they are used only for the specific project that you have license for.
